5 Tips To Add More Spice To Your Life

You know the old saying “variety is the spice of life”, and although many such phrases are just soundbites, this one is anything but. Because let’s be honest, sometimes our lives can become routine. We settle into a comfort zone and boredom can soon follow. If you’re looking for some exciting ideas to spice up your life, here’s 5 top tips for you to try:

1. Once a week, visit somewhere you’ve never been before. A city, town or village, a museum, a theater, a restaurant, cafĂ©, or bar, a park, a zoo, a wood or forest – get the idea? Visiting new places broadens your horizons and helps to keep life fresh and interesting.

2. The biggest thief that will ever enter your home does so by your invitation. Your television can steal something more valuable from you than any other thief on the planet: Your precious, non-renewable life time. Time to stop this little thief from pilfering any more! At least once a month, spend an entire week without watching any television and use the time to do something much more life-enhancing. You could workout, read books, learn a new subject – languages, cookery, swimming, diving, computers, wine-tasting, crafts, astronomy, astrology, music, advanced driving, drama, take up a new sport – the list is endless. You’ll meet people, you’ll develop more skills, you’ll add to your knowledge and you’ll develop more confidence. And you’ll feel more alive! Beats sitting indoors watching soaps, the news, repeats and a barrage of commercials doesn’t it? I’m sure you’ve heard people say “I’d love to try something new but I just haven’t the time”. It’s common isn’t it? Yet many people are totally unaware of how much television they watch. Let’s be conservative and say it’s an average 4 hours a day. 4 x 7 = 28 hours. Imagine what you could achieve if you devoted 28 hours a week to doing something far more constructive?

3. Fancy a challenge – something that will test you to the limit? How about a survival weekend? There are many courses available for this, from basic outdoor survival to more specialized ones for arctic, desert and jungle survival. You’ll learn more about the environment, you’ll develop survival skills and again, you’ll meet new people and share a highly rewarding experience. To find courses, use the Internet search engines – “survival weekend”, “survival courses”

and “learn basic survival” as search terms.

4. Spontaneity can bring excitement and adventure into life. Doing things on the spur of the moment is fun too! So why not just do something totally unplanned? Get in the car and drive somewhere, go to the train station and take a train journey somewhere, or, for a holiday, just visit your travel broker or go direct to the airport and see what deals they’ve got for you to go there and then. Have your bags packed and ready and don’t forget your passport! This brings the unknown into our lives, and although this can be a little bit frightening, it’s also very exciting too. Enjoy the adventure!

5. I’ve saved the best till last! When it comes to living a happy, fulfilled life, a life where you do all things you really want to do, fear is the biggest threat you will have to face. It ruins the hopes and dreams of millions and millions of people. Every time you give in to a fear, you lose. You miss out on opportunity, experience and happiness. So do something you are afraid of. Yes, I know it is very hard to do this but the alternative – giving in – is much more painful. If you’re afraid of heights, learn to abseil or climb. If you’re afraid of water, learn to swim. Flying – attend a fear of flying course. Frightened of driving? Start to learn. If you want to start a business, devote the time to become fully informed and start your research. Whatever it is, TAKE ACTION to beat it. Fear only exists in one place – YOUR MIND. It is an illusion that will set boundaries on your happiness. The only way to break through these boundaries is to confront fear and overcome it. When you do, your confidence will increase, you will experience more happiness and my word will you feel alive!

And there's five great ideas for you to try. Make them work for you by putting them into action and remember: Knowledge isn’t power, it's putting knowledge to action so it works for you is what empowers you.

9 Ways to Motivate Yourself When You Just Don't Feel Like I

Achieving the really big goals and dreams always involves breaking it down into do-able little steps. Assuming that you've picked a goal or dream that you really love working at, then most of the steps are a delight to take. No matter how much you love your dream and no matter how much you love your work, there are going to be tasks along the way that you really don't want to do. Those pieces of work that we hate doing can be the very ones that sabotage our success. How do you stay motivated during those parts of the journey?

1) Reward yourself. Let's say that I want to lose twenty pounds. That's not too much, but it's still going to involve more days of self discipline that I feel like doing. So, I reward myself with a little treat every time I drop five pounds. I get to have one of my favorite fattening meals at the end of each five pound loss. Then I go back to my diet. At the end, I get to go on a shopping spree to buy new clothes. Come up with a reward that you can use to motivate yourself.

2) Do it for love of someone else. My teenage son proposed a deal that works for both of us. I don't smoke cigarettes and he doesn't experiment with drugs. Every time one of us is about to give in to temptation, our love for each other stops us. I can't light up knowing that he might start doing drugs because I broke our deal. He hates the idea of me dying of cancer, so he never touches any kinds of drugs offered to him by his peers. The love of someone else can motivate you to do what you otherwise might not be able to do for yourself.

3) Trade work with someone else. I've watched my kids perfect this style of motivation. My son will offer to scrub out the showers if my daughter will do the dishes for him. Hiring someone to do the work you don't want to do is actually a form of trade. Barter or pay someone else to do it for you, so that you can continue moving forward with your dreams.

4) Truly consider quitting. I'm not telling you to quit, but to really think about it. If you've got a goal or dream that means a lot to you and you've already invested a large part of yourself into making it happen, then what would quitting feel like? Is avoiding the difficult or distasteful task worth giving up on your goals and dreams? The love of your long-term goal can motivate you not to quit.

5) Share the misery. This reminds me of friends in college getting together to study for an upcoming test. Having friends along can make the experience more festive then it would have been if you were doing it alone. Is there a way to team up with a friend so that the work is easier or at least more enjoyable?

6) Just get it over with. One of my all time favorite quotes about getting past your inner blocks was written by Stuart Wilde in his book The Quickening, "Cut the shit and do the thing." Yeah it's a bit rough, but we all know those stoic tough people who simply roll up their sleeves and dive in know

matter how much they may hate the task before them. Take on a soldier's mindset and just get to work doing the ugly parts so you can move on to the more rewarding parts of making your dreams a reality.

7) Get training or education. Quite often, we don't like doing something because deep down we don't think we know how or that we are talented enough. So, get the education, do the research, learn the necessary skills, or whatever else it is that you need to do to get ready for taking that next step. Once you've properly trained yourself, then you might even be enthusiastic about taking that next step.

8) Take a running start at it. Think of riding your bike uphill. It doesn't take kids very long to figure out that the best way to get that bicycle to the top of the steep hill is to build up a lot of speed before you even get to the base of the hill. You then let that momentum help to propel you most of the way up. Heck, with enough of a running start you can sometimes make it all the way up without any major struggles. If there is a way to pace yourself and reschedule the not so fun parts of accomplishing your goals until after you've completed a bunch of the cool parts, then do so. The highs of your mini successes will help inspire you to push past the parts that you are avoiding.

9) Figure out a different way to do it. This is the supreme way to avoid doing the task all together. Be creative, be smart, think outside the box. Is there any way to make your dream come true without having to actually do the specific duty that you're wanting to avoid? Sometimes you can find another way. Other times, just knowing that there is definitely no other path to your dreams other than the one before you is enough to motivate you to just buck up and get through it.

What's most important is not how you keep yourself motivated but that you keep the long-term benefits of your goals in mind. If you focus too much on avoiding the uncomfortable parts of accomplishing your goals, then you won't accomplish much. Find a way to keep going and remember that all things come with a price. Pay the price so you can get on with enjoying the dream.

A perspective on life!

A perspective on life! – by Joseph Ghabi

All of our lives we always seem to direct our concern toward attempting to conclude our life path or destiny in this lifetime without really knowing or understanding what this means to us. In reality the importance lies not in trying to determine our life path or destiny, but, in effect of how much growth we accomplish within one lifetime. So you are not condemned if you make one or two mistakes from time to time! The importance in reality in the acceptance of the situation, then the understanding of what you’ve come to learn and move on in your life. At the end of that particular lifetime, it is measured if we succeeded to meet our intended life path and the relevance is in what amount of growth that we were capable of achieving in that lifetime.

By putting less restriction and pressure on ourselves in concentrating less on our life path, we can allow different experiences and the people that come into our lives to bring us our growth. Rather than comparing their signs in horoscope, astrology or numerology with our own in order to determine if they are compatible with us or not, just appreciate and understand that you needed those experiences when they came to you, otherwise the people were not part of your life in the first place.

In our human level, it is normal to push away certain experiences or people that we encounter in our lives, a common reaction out of a lack of security in ourselves. That is in reality the fear of the unknown in any situation that is not familiar to us. Think of it in that way. If we need the experience then that is enough reason to accept and learn to deal with it in the first place without questioning its impact or value in your life. Just accept it as part of your growth.

Growth and our life path are not the same and we cannot look at them from the same perspective. Try to look at it from my point of view at the moment.

Growth is defined in such a way that for the evolution of a soul, that soul requires the capacity to evolve under specific learning experiences in order to attain a higher level of wisdom, as well as being a companion to its fellow souls without placing judgment or by discriminating people for their skin color, religion or ethnic background.

Our life path is a set of goals that we put to ourselves in an intended direction that should lead us to reach our highest possible level of growth. However, there is no such thing as one way or one direction that can lead us to our most desired life path. We can take any direction in life and always have use of our free will at our own discretion. It is important to remember that the direction will only determine the amount of growth that we accomplish from such a decision we took in our life when we do use our free will.

As an example of that I am not sure if you watch “The Price is Right” on TV? When a contestant goes on stage and they have 3 doors in front of them to choose from, DOOR #1, DOOR #2 and DOOR #3. The contestant is exited about being there in the first place! When looking back at the audience to see his wife or her husband pointing with their finger at door1, 2 or 3, providing their opinion of what they think their partner should pick. Finally they decided on door #3!… It is here that you should understand what I

discussed previously, in terms of the amount of growth we might achieve and under what circumstances it will occur. If that contestant choose DOOR #1 there was a car valued at 15,790$, behind DOOR #2 there a bed room furniture valued at 7,238$, and DOOR #3 there a cruise valued at 11,877$. As you can see, with which ever door you choose you are still going to win and have an experience with those prizes, yet, each one had a different feeling and value, but only in percentage. You might feel somewhat sad sometimes that you did not choose the door that your intuition was leading you to choose but at the end you still did not lose as you can see. As we can compare all of that into our life and whatever direction you choose to take is still right. The only change is the difference of experiences that each direction will bring us in return, and the amount of growth they provide for us. With that conclusion, regardless if our experience is good or bad, in either case it is still growth.

As we can see there is no right or wrong here just learn to trust yourself and act upon whatever feels right for you. Never question it and avoid asking other people, relatives or a medium for an answer because you do hold your own answers inside of you. Just learn to trust yourself, even if you are in the worst situation of your life so far! There is always a way out when we apply our own determination and will into making the change. You are the master of your own destiny at the end.

In reality our biggest fear in life is in accepting the necessity of making a change. Change brings an unfamiliar territory that we need to cross bringing the necessary people or situations that we need to let go of. Think about it and be honest with yourself in order to make your change valid and effective. The minute you take that leap into an unknown direction, people, situations and insight will start to fall into your lap from an unknown source. Why? Because you already took your decision to act and allowed space for change. From then on the universe will start to support you in whatever direction you plan to go on your next stage of the journey we call life.

Cherish that life and just try to make the best of it and have a positive attitude about it. As it is now, I am writing these words to you regardless of what you choose to do with them. Our crossing has been met only by you reading my words and from there it is your choice for what you do with it. But the growth is as it is for you, as well as it is for me. This will bring me an opportunity to grow by learning to appreciate the chance for me to share my insight, wisdom and understanding with you. As you see there is always a win win situation here and we will never lose. Just learn to appreciate your chances to grow and enjoy your life in the process.
